Job Description:
Fischer Automotive, a leading automotive technology company located in Auburn Hills, Michigan, is in search of an experienced and highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our innovative team. As a Manufacturing Engineer at Fischer Automotive, you will be a crucial contributor, with a focus on optimizing manufacturing processes for our advanced automotive interior components. Your expertise in automotive manufacturing engineering, program launch experience, and proficiency in tools like MS Excel and PowerPoint are essential for the success of our projects.
Responsibilities:

  1. Manufacturing Optimization: Utilize your experience in Automotive Manufacturing Engineering to evaluate, refine, and optimize manufacturing processes related to interior components, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety.
  2. Continuous Improvement: Implement continuous improvement initiatives, employing methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and others to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall manufacturing operations.
  3. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to develop and enforce robust quality control measures, ensuring that products meet rigorous industry standards and customer expectations.
  4. Program Launch: Leverage your program launch experience to seamlessly integrate new products into the manufacturing process, ensuring a smooth transition from development to production.
  5. Equipment Sourcing: Oversee the sourcing of secondary assembly equipment and controls, ensuring that the selected tools meet the necessary specifications and standards.
  6. Risk Analysis: Utilize your experience with PFMEA (Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and MSA (Measurement System Analysis) to identify potential risks in manufacturing processes and implement preventive measures.
  7. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flowcharts, and equipment specifications, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in Automotive Manufacturing Engineering, specifically related to interior components.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control methods.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with sourcing secondary assembly equipment and controls.
  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint abilities for data analysis and effective communication.
  • Experience with PFMEA (Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and MSA (Measurement System Analysis) processes.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
