NOW HIRING: Receiving Clerk/Material Handler (1st Shift)

1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday-Friday
Pay: $19.00/hr
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Receiving Clerk/Material Handler to join our team. This position is responsible for assisting with material movements between various buildings and supporting the receiving area in unloading trucks and containers. You will also be responsible for pulling parts/materials and ensuring their proper handling to support production processes. This position requires flexibility, as it involves both receiving area duties and material handling tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Valid Connecticut Driver's License: Required for operating the campus truck.
- Material Handling & Movement: Load and unload materials, ensuring timely and accurate transfers between buildings and outside partners.
- Scheduling & Delivery: Keep the campus truck on schedule and ensure the timely delivery of materials.
- Inventory Management: Record stock transactions in SAP and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Receiving Support: Assist in unloading goods, checking paperwork, and preparing building labels when necessary.
- Material Handling: Pull parts from storage and deliver them to assembly areas using transport carts, pallet jacks, or forklifts.
- Workplace Organization: Implement 5S principles for efficient organization of storage areas.
- Physical Requirements: Stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods; capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Safety: Maintain a safe and efficient workflow, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience in material handling, shipping, or warehousing preferred. Experience with computerized shipping systems is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods on concrete flooring.
- License: A valid Connecticut Driver's License is required; experience driving a 20,000 lbs. truck is preferred.
- Strong organizational and paperwork management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle issues proactively.
