Job title: Material Technician
Location: Ocala, FL
Shift: 7:00 am - 7:10 pm - One week 48 hours and the following week 36 hours
Pay rate: $19.84 per hour
Assignment: Contract to hire
Feeds material into or removes material from machines or equipment that is automatic or tended by other workers. Also, inspect materials and products for defects and ensure specifications conformance.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties may be assigned.
• Fill materials and products into hoppers using hand tools and moving devices.
• Keep material feeders and color mix barrels full.
• Place materials inside of a mixer to be blended.
• Perform general clean-up tasks to keep work area clean and free of excess debris.
• Remove all obstructions using safety equipment.
• Maintain and change rolls of fiberglass tape as needed.
• Follow written or oral instructions regarding daily tasks and job duties.
• Operates: Pallet jack and sit-down forklift, and must maintain their assigned equipment in good working condition.
Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED
• Communicate, in English, in a clear and effective manner.
• Prior forklift and manufacturing experience a plus.
• Must be able to read paper instructions and labeling requirements.
• Must be able to work a 12-hour rotating shift.
• Must be able to perform repetitive and continuous work.
• Must be able to work overtime as business needs dictate.
Work Environment:
• Indoor facility that is not air-conditioned or heated.
• Inside line work around loud equipment/machinery.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Frequent bending at the waist and neck; grasping (power & simple).
• Pushing/pulling; reaching above, at, and below shoulder level.
• Repetitive motion of the shoulders, arms and hands.
• Constant standing; twisting of the neck and waist; use of vision.
• Physically able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
