Description

Position: Claims Coordinator (Medical Biller)

Company: Luxottica / Team Vision

Location: Paramus, NJ 07652 (Hybrid – 2x a week in office)

Work type: Temp to Perm, 6 months

Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday

Payrate: $22.1/hr (flexible with experience)

Responsibilities:

  • Review and submit medical claims to insurance carriers using the practice EHR system and clearing house.

  • Monitor rejected claim reports, adjust claims, and resubmit to insurance carriers.

  • Download Explanation of Payments (EOPs) to post claim payments and denials in the EHR system.

  • Determine if denied claims can be corrected and re-submitted.

  • Research open/unpaid balances using aging reports and follow up within filing limits.

  • Utilize insurance carrier websites and contact carriers to investigate claim denials or status.

  • Coordinate with clearing house to distribute patient billing statements and monitor patient portal payments.

  • Initiate overpayment refunds to patients and repayments to insurance carriers.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the practice regarding vision and medical claims.

  • Support the corporate manager in maximizing claim collection rates.

  • Complete OIG/GSA/OFAC compliance screening prior to placement.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma

  • 3+ years of experience in medical billing and coding

  • Knowledge of handling multiple insurance carriers and their claim processes

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize issues and resolve problems efficiently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in multiple doctor practices

  • Proven ability to identify and solve issues independently

  • Familiarity with multiple insurance carriers' claim requirements

Physical / Work Environment Requirements:

  • Office-based role with hybrid schedule (2 days in-office, remainder remote)

  • Computer-intensive work requiring attention to detail

  • Regular communication with internal teams and external insurance carriers
