Microbiologist

Pay: $33/hour
Schedule: Day shift. Onsite

Overview
Client is an industry-leading company at the forefront of scientific innovation, dedicated to quality control and product safety. As part of our Laboratory team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of raw materials, in-process goods, finished products, and environmental samples.
What you will be doing:

  • Performing microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process products, finished goods, and environmental samples using compendial methods (USP, AOAC, FDA-BAM) as well as validated in-house protocols
  • Executing testing for microorganisms such as E. coli, Salmonella, Staphylococcus, Yeast, and Mold
  • Reviewing and understanding Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and utilizing documentation tools to maintain QC data, reports, and corrective action summaries
  • Collaborating effectively with team members and management, communicating progress and status as needed
  • Ensuring compliance with GLP (preferred), with consideration given to GMP experience
  • Supporting water quality and environmental monitoring programs, including bioburden testing, TOC, and conductivity
  • Working in a climate-controlled lab and production environments with appropriate safety equipment


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in microbiology (strongly preferred), chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or related field
  • Solid background in laboratory testing, including aseptic technique, serial dilutions, and microorganism enumeration
  • 3-5 years' experience in a microbiological laboratory, preferably in a regulated GLP/GMP setting, or an MSc with at least 1 year's related experience
  • Experience with compendial methods (USP, AOAC, FDA-BAM) and in-house validation
  • Demonstrable proficiency in SOPs, documentation tools, and QC reporting
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, ability to multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good computer skills in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and preferred LIMS experience
