Job Title: Packaging Technician
12 hours shifts (6am-6pm) Wednesday - Friday
  Summary:
As a Packaging Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality packaging of aerosol products. Working as directed by DuPont operators and on-site supervisors—and in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)—you will verify product quality, prepare and package containers according to site quality standards, and maintain accurate inventory records. You will coordinate with team members to keep production flowing and avoid delays, while upholding strict safety and housekeeping requirements.
  Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Verify the quality of aerosol can products and ensure they meet site quality standards.
  • Place aerosol can products in proper packaging, palletize, and label products for inventory inclusion.
  • Safely operate packaging equipment such as case erectors, tray formers, case sealers, case printers, conveyors, rollers, carton staplers, and floor staplers.
  • Set up packaging lines according to production specification sheets.
  • Inspect cans and packages according to quality specifications.
  • Assemble packaging materials (boxes, trays, lids) as needed.
  • Stack products on pallets in correct configurations with appropriate markings.
  • Record production data in accordance with the Production Counting Procedure.
  • Return out-of-spec aerosol cans to the production line for rework or disposal.
  • Load and unload tray formers and box erectors; remove deformed boxes and restart equipment as necessary.
  • Identify equipment problems and promptly notify the Dow operator for assistance.
  • Support production lines by backfilling as needed (180, 550, Pamasol Line, Pro Line, and Quarter Pallets).
  • Remain at workstations until relieved by the next shift; night, weekend, holiday, and overtime work may be required as scheduled.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, complying with all site rules and safety requirements.
  • Identify workplace hazards and take action to minimize risks.
  • Perform repackaging duties and dispose of materials according to RCRA regulations (RCRA training required for those disposing).
  • Follow all standard operating procedures and notify supervision immediately of any injuries, illnesses, or safety incidents.
  • Successfully complete all required EH&S and operations training.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to stand for extended periods—up to 7 hours per shift.
  • Competent in the proper use of Dow-approved cutting tools and other required tools.
  • Ability to read English and perform basic math functions.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must meet all requirements of the pre-employment "Fitness for Duty" assessment.
Preferred:
  • Previous experience in packaging, production, or warehouse environments.
  • Experience with hazardous materials handling (RCRA certification a plus).
  • Commitment to teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
