Position: Payment/Payoff Specialist

Contract Type: Temporary to Hire
Monday – Friday: 8:30am-5pm EST (IN OFFICE Full Time)
Position Overview:

Essential Functions:
- Ensures payments from all sources are processed in a timely manner. Handles non-sufficient (NSF) via lockbox, ACH and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) including the reversal of the payment.
- Ensures payoffs are processed in a timely manner. Manages paid - in - full (PIF) loans.
- Monitors the low loan balance report and issues payoff/low balance letters. Monitors changes to fees associated with payoffs and discharges. Manages suspense/un-applied and unidentified funds.
- Secondary backup on servicing phone calls and responding to emails and voicemails.
- Monitors the Maturing Loans report and communicates with members nearing maturity what to expect during the payoff process.
Responsibilities:
- 1-3 years of payment processing or similar experience – this is a great entry level role even with no mortgage experience.
- Experience working in mortgage a plus.
- Ability to speak with members on the phone periodically in a professional manner.
- Strong attention to detail.

- Strong communication, both verbal and written.
- Quick learner and takes initiative (proactive in their approach).
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to meet quick deadlines.
