Kelly Engineering is currently seeking a highly motivated E&I Designer with a minimum of 10 years in related field specific skills to join a leading team in Orange, Texas. The ideal candidate must be a productive, self-starter and possess strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills. Experience with or the ability to learn Bentley MicroStation and SmartPlant S3D/SPI. Must be able to lead design reviews and work with Dow project teams to develop construction scopes and material lists for estimates. Performing QA/QC of drawing deliverables during design and As-Built phases for conformance to Dow drafting standards will be required. Must be able to interpret red-line drawings and update the original CAD drawings. Possess knowledge of installation practices in commonly used instrument and electrical equipment such as: conduit, tubing, cable sizes, disconnects, relays, wire terminals, motor-starters and flow/temperature/pressure instruments.

The ideal candidate must be able to understand, interpret, and modify:

• P&IDs
• Wiring diagrams
• Motor schematics
• Interconnection drawings
• Instrument loop drawings (analog & digital)
• Instrument Location Drawings
• Installation / hook-up details
• Control room layout
• DCS/PLC drawings
• Lighting / power panel drawings
• Motor control center drawings
• Cable tray & location plans
• Single-Line electrical drawings
• Area classification drawings
• Interlock & SIS logic drawings

Other Requirements:

• Candidate must be able to stand or sit for periods of up to 4 hours.
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders in an industrial environment.
• Field walk-downs are frequent. Up to 10% domestic travel is required
• A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
