Product Line Manager – Houston, TX

Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a strategic and technically savvy Product Line Manager to lead the development, growth, and lifecycle management of our client's Energy Chemical Technologies portfolio. This includes stimulation chemicals, drilling additives, cementing chemistries, and production chemicals.

The ideal candidate will blend strong market insight with deep technical knowledge of upstream oil and gas applications to drive innovation and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
•    Developing and executing short- and long-term strategies for the upstream chemical portfolio, including market segmentation, pricing strategies, and product roadmaps.
•    Managing the full product lifecycle—from concept through commercialization and retirement—ensuring alignment with business goals and evolving customer needs.
•    Conducting competitive analysis, gathering customer feedback, and assessing market trends to identify opportunities for product enhancement or new product development.
•    Collaborating cross-functionally with R&D, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure successful product development and go-to-market execution.
•    Monitoring product line profitability, including revenue forecasting, margin analysis, pricing decisions, and cost optimization.
•    Supporting sales teams globally and regionally with product training, technical documentation, and customer engagement strategies.
•    Acting as the internal “voice of the customer” and building strong relationships with key clients.
•    Identifying and prioritizing innovative technologies and chemical formulations to address upstream challenges such as corrosion and scale inhibition, emulsion control, and water quality management.

Skills and Knowledge
•    Proven ability to communicate product vision and strategy to internal teams and external stakeholders.
•    Strong understanding of upstream chemical applications including friction reducers, surfactants, scale inhibitors, and stimulation additives.
•    Technical expertise in polymer chemistry and how chemical products interact with formation fluids, reservoir rocks, and wellbore environments (temperature, pressure, salinity).
•    Knowledge of upstream operations including hydraulic fracturing, cementing, and drilling.
•    Ability to identify and manage risks related to product development and market shifts.

Minimum Requirements
•    Associate or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
•    1–3 years of experience in a chemical, petrochemical, or related discipline with familiarity in oilfield applications such as reservoir stimulation and production enhancement.

Preferred Qualifications
•    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry or related field; MBA is a plus.
•    3–5 years of experience in upstream oil & gas, including 1–3 years in product management or technical sales related to oilfield chemicals.
