We are proud to offer a new opportunity near Birmingham AL for Capital Project Manager with a leading biomedical company. This role offers competitive compensation and relocation assistance.

This is a fantastic opportunity with a well-established and expanding company in the biomedical sector. The role involves constructing a comprehensive R&D lab, complete with laboratory facilities, offices, equipment, manufacturing, and packaging areas. A dedicated team of engineers will support this initiative, all reporting to the Site Engineering Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify new project opportunities and develop execution plans.
  • Manage project issues and risks; direct resource allocation.
  • Implement tracking and reporting mechanisms to monitor project progress.
  • Communicate project status to stakeholders and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Lead engineering and contractor teams to meet project goals.
  • Ensure design accuracy and compliance with project requirements and site standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align on project scope and objectives.
  • Manage safety reviews, permit audits, and inspections.
Non-Essential Duties:
  • Lead sustainability assessments and hazard studies.
  • Address safety compliance in contractor management and site operations.
Education and Experience:
B.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering; 10+ years in capital project management.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Expertise in engineering, safe construction practices, and regulatory standards (FDA, NFPA, OSHA).
  • CapEx project experience with $20-$100 million experience.
  • Strong analytical, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with medical or pharma a huge plus, but not required.
