Job Title: Contract Mechanical Project Manager – Data Center Project

Location: On-site near Salt Lake City, UT

Contract Duration: 18+ months

Start Date: January 2025

Compensation: Competitive pay with a full benefits package, including health, dental, 401k, PTO, paid holidays, and OT pay.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager to lead and manage the mechanical systems and components for a state-of-the-art data center project in West Jordan, UT. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in power generation, Balance of Plant (BOP), and the successful commissioning of large-scale engineering projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic project team and make a significant impact on a high-profile initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, installation, integration, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.
  • Monitor and ensure quality, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage procurement and logistics for mechanical equipment and materials.
  • Provide detailed reporting on progress, risks, and resolutions to stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage project teams, ensuring delivery within agreed timeframes and quality standards.
  • Engage in regular communication with clients to understand requirements and manage expectations.
  • Develop and negotiate project timelines and budgets with clients.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to monitor project costs against budgets and milestones.
  • Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to ensure best value in terms of price, quality, and reliability.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in power generation projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems and Balance of Plant components.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects for at least 2 years in an engineering environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.
  • Proficiency in IT skills, including Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project.
  • Project Management qualification is desirable.
