Description
We are seeking a Quality Control (QC) Inspector for our Newington Warehouse. The role involves performing incoming goods inspection, creating and documenting quality notifications, stock checking, and transfers to production.
The QC Inspector is responsible for verifying the product quality of incoming and in-process goods and evaluating the supplier delivery quality. They will coordinate additional activities to ensure fulfillment of the Total Quality System (TQS) and authorize product delivery from the production unit to process or end customer.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm
Location: Newington, CT warehouse, but availability to come to Farmington as needed (the rest of the quality team is based in Farmington)
Pay: $25-$28/hr
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Investigate and address quality issues: root cause analysis, corrective, and preventive actions
- Coordinate material disposition of non-conforming products: rework, replacement, acceptance under deviations, etc.
- Perform inspections of materials in accordance with drawings and standards
- Interface with internal departments and suppliers (both internal and external)
- Implement and further improve quality control measures
- Assist with the management of the calibration of measuring devices
- Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines to inspect products
Experience:
- Minimum of two years' experience in quality control within the parts/components manufacturing field
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Detailed knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with measuring equipment and inspection techniques
- Good interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in using a computer and standard software packages (MS Office)
- Prefer experience with SAP or other ERP systems
Education:
- Two-year technical degree or a suitable combination of education and work experience required
