Quality Food Lab Technician- Macedon NY
Summary:
The primary responsibility of this position is to perform analytical testing using established methodologies to support finished goods, in-process items, and equipment swabbing. This ensures that all products meet food safety and quality specifications. The role involves utilizing approved laboratory techniques and performing complex calculations to guarantee timely and accurate results.
Job Duties Include:

• Conducting Pre-Operational/Post-CIP Inspections.
• Executing perfect package checks on applicable production lines, reporting any issues to QA management.
• Verifying food safety preventive controls are in place and functioning correctly.
• Supporting and educating team members on food safety duties and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Undertaking microbiological swabs as required.
• Placing non-conforming products on hold and troubleshooting them by collaborating with leadership to determine root cause and product range.
• Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of production lines and process flows to troubleshoot production issues, minimizing downtime.
• Identifying opportunities to reduce waste, rework, and inefficiencies, focusing on continuous process improvement.
• Performing Internal Audits of the facility, processes, and programs.

Education/Experience:

• AAS or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing quality assurance within a highly regulated environment, such as food or pharmaceutical manufacturing, is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP and RedZone is a plus.

Certificates and Licenses:

• HACCP/PCQI training is preferred.
