R&D Scientist
Kelly Outsourcing Consulting Group Kelly OCG , a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a R&D Scientist for a long-term engagement at one of our Global clients in Jacksonville, FL. This role is a full-time, fully benefitted position. As a Kelly OCG employee you will be eligible for Medical, Dental, 401K and a variety of other benefits to choose from. Pay is Up to $26 an hour
Day Shift Monday - Friday
Responsibilities
- Formulate/Blend experimental reactive monomer mixes for product development
- Fabricate experimental lenses using photo and/or thermal polymerization in laboratory glovebox, complete extractions, lens inspections, lens packaging, and sterilization
- Partner with Project Teams to author Protocol Manager pilot line protocols and help provide guidance to pilot line technicians on critical new process steps for experimental formulations.
- Partner with Project Teams to author clinical quality readiness documentation to enable in lab clinical builds
- Responsible for polymer characterization via multiple analytical techniques, e.g. FTIR Fourier transform infrared , HPLC High Performance Liquid Chromatography , UV/VIS Ultra Violent/Visible Light , and RI Refractive Index following JJV approved SOPs Submit lenses for invitro testing and perform specific invitro testing as needed, e.g. Transmittance, FTIR, HPLC Analyze data in minitab and excel to summarize in formal PowerPoint report and reports
- Maintain laboratory in a clean and orderly fashion to ensure compliance with GLP guidelines
- Manage laboratory-generated chemical waste labeling and pick-up according to established laboratory procedures Data Reporting, responsible for submitting all generated data into the appropriate validated and approved LIMS system and Protocol Management
- Responsible for maintaining detailed laboratory records, both hard and electronic
- Minimum of bachelor's degree with 1-2 yrs work experience preferred. Education background Chemistry, Engineering, Material Science, or Biomedical is preferred.
