Job Title: Raw Material Handler
Direct Hire
A lot of outdoor working, hot climate.
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $18 to $22 per hour
We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our Logistics Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of loading and unloading operations of bulk raw materials, totes, and palletized goods supporting production. This role requires effective communication with supervisors and management to ensure adequate inventory levels of raw materials are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities:- Unload inbound freight of hazardous and non-hazardous materials, including storage and stacking for non-bulk materials and unloading bulk chemicals received by tank truck or rail.
- Inspect inbound raw material shipments for leaks, tampering, and other issues.
- Verify inbound paperwork to ensure accuracy regarding name, address, materials, etc.
- Report damages, paperwork issues, and leaks immediately.
- Contain and clean spilled materials promptly, adhering to company policy.
- Support bulk hazardous material shipments by loading, weighing in/out, and inspecting.
- Triple-check inbound material and selected hoses/connections to ensure error-free unloading into the correct storage location.
- Communicate via radio with the control room for coordination of unloading.
- Remain with trucks during unloading until completion.
- Submit paperwork to truck drivers and reports to the logistics department in a timely and organized manner.
- Transport non-bulk raw materials to production workstations.
- Maintain up-to-date DOT training.
- Keep bulk unloading areas clean and in good working order.
- Operate forklifts safely, ensuring seat belt usage at all times, and perform daily inspections.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on machinery to ensure safety.
- Identify problems, troubleshoot issues, and report status or quality deficiencies to supervisors.
- Maintain updated records of unloading, loading, inventory, and activity logs.
- Ensure all processes operate within designed parameters and comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
- Participate in site safety training, activities, and drills.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
- Pay meticulous attention to detail in all operations.
- Follow the Employee Handbook, EHSQ policies, safety rules, and the Code of Conduct.
- Work designated schedules, including rotating shifts and overtime, which may involve days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

- The work environment is a chemical manufacturing facility using raw materials to produce various chemicals, including Acrylamide solution and Polyacrylamides.
- This position will involve outdoor activities and exposure to various elements.
- Employees will be trained to work safely around moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
- Noise levels may be elevated in certain areas of the facility.
