Kelly Services is seeking an experienced Warehouse Associate in University Park, IL. Candidates must have shipping/receiving/reach truck forklift experience, with a solid work history.
This is a contract to hire opportunity, meaning you could get hired directly after 3-4 months, depending on your performance and attendance.

Shifts and pay:
Mon-Fri 6:30am – 3pm
$20/hr.
Responsibilities:
- Become familiar with all operations procedures and the creation of products according to formulation procedures
- Ensure all in-coming loads have a “P.O.” number and record the time received on the P.O.
- Verify goods match the Bill of Lading and that the load should be received
- Attach the proper incoming labels (color chart) with the load and attach so that the labels are visible when racked to ensure proper stock rotation
- Complete “vehicle inspection” checklist and submit to shipping/receiving office. Do not unload a pest infected load
- Each in-coming skid must be inspected for damages as they are being unloaded along with lot numbers. Counts must be recorded on the receiving purchase order and bill of lading to be signed
- Place stock in warehouse keeping allergens and other products requirements in order
- Load customer trucks as needed
- Maintain shipping plant area in a clean and safe fashion representative of a food processing facility
- Provide training and instructions to assistants/ temporary workers as well as team members
- Perform Tote and Plant sanitation tasks when required
- To use WMS and other related procedures as required. Use appropriate inventory policy – i.e. use oldest Lot number first (FIFO)
- To receive liquid bulk load following the appropriate SOP. Ensure proper measurement
- Responsible to make sure proper weight/measurement is recorded to balance inventory
- Fill in proper packaging size based on production schedule or customer orders
- To accurately produce batches of product; prep the ingredients in advance to facilitate production efficiency
- To present completed work orders to Quality Laboratory along with representative sample
- Package product when approval is given, ensuring extreme neatness, proper label and Lot number assignment
- To ensure containers used for production and packaging are clean and presentable.
- To maintain the plant area in a clean and safe fashion representative of a food processing facility
- To attend any required training necessary for the job
- Complete all other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, GMP's and HACCP requirements
- Responsible for following Food Safety and Quality requirements as per Prerequisite programs, HACCP plans, CCP monitoring and SQF code
Qualifications/Skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is an asset
- Must have 1 year of shipping/receiving experience
- Must be able to lift up to 25kg/50lbs on a regular basis
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Reach Truck forklift experience
- Must have positive attitude, hands-on experience, can-do attitude
- Outgoing food warehouse experience is a major plus, not a must
