Now Hiring: Receiving Material Handler / Backup Box Truck Driver
Location: Farmington,CT
Shift: 1st Shift – 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (Flexibility required for early start, overtime, and occasional Saturday work)
Pay: $20/hour

  Position Summary
We are currently hiring a Receiving Material Handler / Backup Box Truck Driver to support our internal logistics and warehouse operations. This is a hands-on, dual-function role that involves receiving, inventory handling, and operating a box truck (non-CDL) on an as-needed basis. While truck driving will not be a daily responsibility, the right candidate must be fully trained and certified to step into the driving role when needed.
No CDL is required, but you must hold a valid driver's license, pass a DOT physical, complete a motor vehicle screening, and be internally certified to drive the truck. Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a backup driver for a company box truck (under CDL threshold) transporting materials between local facilities.
  • Load and unload the truck accurately and on schedule.
  • Assist with receiving shipments, unloading containers, and processing goods receipts in SAP.
  • Unpack, label, and stock inventory in organized storage locations.
  • Pull parts for production and deliver them using carts, pallet jacks, or forklifts.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by recording stock movements and transactions using barcode scanners and SAP.
  • Perform routine cycle counts and ensure all material handling is done with attention to detail.
  • Follow and promote 5S standards in the warehouse and storage areas.
  • Communicate with receiving and shipping teams to coordinate material flow and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand or walk for long periods.
Requirements
  • Experience driving a box truck is required
  • Valid Connecticut driver's license (or ability to obtain before starting).
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and motor vehicle screen.
  • Ability to become certified as a box truck driver through company training.
  • Prior experience with warehouse receiving or material handling.
  • Comfortable using basic computer systems and barcode scanners (SAP experience is a plus).
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Forklift operation or certification is a plus.
