Kelly is hiring for a Research Associate position with one of our clients in Chesterfield, MO.
 

  • Full time- W2
  • Shift: Monday- Friday Night Shift (approx. 2pm-10pm)
  • 6 months contract (May be extended or converted)
  • $26/hr

Job Description:
This position is in the Production Genotyping lab. The candidate will be working collaboratively with a large production team to deliver daily and weekly genotyping targets under tight deadlines. The candidate will primarily be responsible for operating manual and automated lab processes in a library creation lab. The role may also include additional various tasks in sample prep, sequencing, qPCR, general lab stocking and supply upkeep.
  •  Performs laboratory technical tasks.
  • Responsible for the care and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Will be required to offer assistance in the operation of the equipment and the gathering of data.
  • Assists with receipt and inspection of raw materials, ordering and stocking

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • 1-2 years experience
  • Demonstrate reliability: This is a business-critical position to keep our lab running 7 days a week across multiple shifts. The candidate must be a reliable presence on this shift. Position may require flexible or off shift hours during peak times.
  • High Throughput/production/sample management: Our lab processes 4+ million samples per year with fast turn-around times. Any experience handling a large number of samples daily (lab, etc), or in a fast-paced environment (retail, food service, etc) is a plus. Experience with LIMS is a plus.
  • Automation/mechanical aptitude: The candidate must be comfortable running and troubleshooting automation independently with little guidance on this shift. Biologists with engineering/technical aptitudes are encouraged to apply.
  • Attention to detail, strong work ethic, sense of urgency, excellent communication skills, good organizational skills, ability to make decisions independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate skills in Office Applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Outlook; Advanced/Proficient skills in Excel.
