Kelly Science, Engineering and Telecom a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, is currently hiring a Safety DRI Engineer for a long-term contract at one of our top Global Medical Device Manufacturing clients located in Jacksonville, FL.

Our client is a disposable contact lens manufacturing facility. They are an innovative, advanced global manufacturing company that continuously adapts new technology and systems to increase production capacity, quality, and logistics.  They currently have a $20 million 2GT Waste Plastics addition for recycling in play at this location.

This role is a contract with enhanced benefits.  As a Kelly employee in this group, you will be eligible for Medical & Dental, 50% paid by Kelly, 401K, 15 PTO days, and paid holidays
Overview: 

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Safety Engineer to oversee construction safety management for our facility construction projects at this location.
The ideal candidate will have relevant degrees and certifications, substantial experience in construction safety roles, and a strong understanding of OSHA regulations and safety standards. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel involved in the project, from start to finish. 

Key Responsibilities: 
•    Provide dedicated safety oversight for all facility construction projects. 
•    Initiate work permits, ensure compliance with safety regulations 
•    Conduct toolbox talks to educate and inform workers about safety practices.  
•    Primary safety liaison between the Project Manager and contractors.
•    Monitor, enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment. 
•    Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards.
•    Develop and implement safety policies and procedures. 
•    Maintain and update safety records and documentation. 
•    Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and implement preventive measures. 
•    Provide safety training and education programs for employees and contractors. - Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations. 
•    Prepare and present safety reports to management. 
•    Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to ensure project safety from design to completion. 

Qualifications: 
•    Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management
•    Certifications in OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour training. 
•    Certified Safety Professional CSP certification preferred. 
•    Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety roles. 
•    Proficiency in safety management software and tools. 
•    Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. 
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
•    Excellent organizational and time management skills.
•     In-depth knowledge of construction safety management practices and OSHA 
•    Strong communication and leadership skills. 
•    Professional certifications, CHST Construction Health and Safety Tech
•    First Aid and CPR certification may be required. 

Physical Requirements: 
•    Ability to walk and stand for extended periods. 
•    Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
•    Comfortable working in various weather conditions and environments. 

Work Environment: 
•    Primarily on construction sites with some office work. 
•    May require wearing personal protective equipment PPE such as hard hats, gloves, and safety glasses.
