Sales Assistant – Health Benefits
Location: Brooklyn or NYC - Hybrid

Kelly has an amazing opportunity for a driven Sales Assistant to join a leading 3rd party Health Benefits Administrator based out of their Brooklyn, NY or Manhattan location.  This is a Direct Hire opportunity with a pay rate range of $26-32 per hour based on experience, an excellent benefits package, and a hybrid schedule.  In this role you will assist with processing and preparing self-funded benefit RFPs as well as perform benefit plan analysis and sales support in additional to acting as a liaison with internal teams from the sales to successful implementation of new and renewing clients.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Evaluate RFP (Request for Proposal) submissions, pinpoint missing information, and edit or format census and reports to ensure data is systematically organized and stored correctly.
  • Request claims reports from carriers and assess the claims data.
  • Work with internal teams to gather essential information for completing submissions.
  • Compile RFPs for client renewals or potential groups, incorporating employee census data, current/renewal plan details and rates, along with historical claims experience.
  • Develop marketing results spreadsheets and provide recommendations.
  • Create proposal presentations for brokers or clients, including cost and benefit analyses.
  • Facilitate the transition of sold accounts to operations, implementation, and the account management team.
  • Serve as an intermediary between brokers and account management.
  • Support account management during implementation and assist in financial and additional projects.
  • Construct final financial models and billing forms for all sold accounts.

Skills and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in client or account management within medical insurance, or in related fields such as sales, administrative support, or marketing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of benefits insurance, including experience on the broker or carrier side, with an understanding of self-funding and stop-loss reinsurance markets.
  • Proficient in standard software applications, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Maintains confidentiality and practices discretion.
  • Effectively identifies and resolves issues by skillfully gathering and analyzing information.
  • Shares knowledge with colleagues through efficient communication and follow-ups.
  • Follows instructions, is receptive to feedback, and seeks improvement.
  • Acts in a manner that builds trust with management, colleagues, and customers.
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
