Job Summary:
We are hiring a Security Officer in our Edgewood, NY location! As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring the site and serving as the first line of contact for security related matters. Your role will involve handling general administrative actions, manning or walking your posts, controlling access to facilities, and monitoring video surveillance.

Job Specifications:
Job Type: Full-time, with benefits
Location: Edgewood, NY
Pay Rate: $18/hr to $18.63/hr, plus annual bonus.
Shifts:
First Shift ($18/hr)
- Monday-Friday, 6am to 2pm
- Saturday-Wednesday 6am to 2pm
- Wednesday-Sunday, 6am to 2pm
- Saturday-Wednesday, 2pm to 10pm
- Ensure the physical security of the site, including the protection of assets and personnel.
- Monitor and control personnel access into the facility.
- Monitor and report event alarms triggered on the access control system and CCTV system.
- Issue and manage ID/access badges.
- Maintain the physical security of the site and keep a historical logbook.
- Respond to and resolve event alarms received at the console monitoring station.
- Conduct roving patrol inspections of the facilities, both internal and external.
- Notify appropriate authorities of any security issues or procedural breaches.
- Keep the Security Management Team informed of all security matters and issues.
- Perform additional duties and functions as assigned by management.
- Maintain flexibility in working hours and be available for travel.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Self-starter.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong communication and people skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience in security or a related field.
- Good customer service skills.
- Must have flexibility. Must be able to travel and perform other related duties and functions as assigned by management.
- Knowledge of access control systems and CCTV monitoring is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel for data entry.
- CPR qualified preferred
