Job Title: Senior Cost Accountant
Location: Mesa 85212
Salary: $95,000 - $105,000 (Dependent on Experience) Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Cost Accountant with a strong background in manufacturing cost accounting to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from a brick-and-mortar institution and a minimum of three years of relevant experience. Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in month-end closing, including analyzing purchase price and order variances, and collaborating with operations to resolve identified errors.
  • Prepare and input journal entries and ensure accurate reporting of financial data related to inventory accounting and COGS.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of product cost data, including updating and reviewing standard costs, BOMs, and routings.
  • Collaborate with plant operations and engineering to update and maintain routings and work with purchasing to obtain new material and packaging costs.
  • Estimate standard costs for new products and assist with inventory management, including conducting and reviewing cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Work with the materials review board to ensure proper reserves for obsolete inventory and reconcile inventory to the general ledger.
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and manage open items to resolution.
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes, including annual standard cost development and preparation of labor and overhead rates.
  • Assist in documenting procedures as needed and work on special projects as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from a brick-and-mortar college or university (not online).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and SAP.
  • 3+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Cost Accounting Standards.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to research, compile, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Must be a U.S. person; no H1 Visa sponsorship available.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening prior to employment.
