Senior Lab Technician Signal Hill, CA | Temp to Hire | $22-25/hr  Kelly Science and Clinical is hiring a senior laboratory technician for a quality-focused facility in Signal Hill, CA. In this role, you will be at the forefront of analytical testing, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely results while maintaining meticulous records. Essential Responsibilities

  • Receives, examines, and records inbound samples for testing through a login process.
  • Delivers test samples to the sample staging area.
  • Monitors the availability of supplies needed for testing processes and communicates needs for such supplies to the Laboratory Manager.
  • After demonstrating proficiency, performs testing of samples and quality control specimens using specified methodologies. Reviews results against specifications and expectations. May issue analyses to clients.
  • Prepares samples and quality control specimens, prepares and standardizes reagents and solutions, and calibrates equipment needed for the testing processes.
  • Verifies and communicates results, making appropriate entries into instrument logs, control charts, calibration records, laboratory worksheets, and other media, ensuring the validity and traceability of the information.
  • Maintains documentation, equipment, and work areas in a neat, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Assists in the training of less experienced employees upon demonstrating sufficient proficiency.
  • Carries out all responsibilities in adherence to the Company's Safety Policy and Procedures, Quality Management System, Ethics Policy, Environmental Management System, Vision, and Strategy, exercising good judgment, common sense, and diplomacy.
Qualifications
  • High school education or equivalent required. 
  • Prefer AS/BS Degree in chemistry or similar. Experience may supersede education.
  • Preferred: Experience in petroleum testing or formal chemistry education.
  • Two years of relevant experience required for U.S. Customs-related testing.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in mathematics.
  • Ability to perform analytical tasks.
  • Protocol, procedure, and safety oriented.
Work Environment
  • Standard working hours, with potential occasional weekend requirements.
  • Adheres to company safety policies and protocols.
