Shipping Worker
Location: Brewster, NY
Job Summary: We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping/Receiving Worker to join our team at a manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating hand-held scan guns to pick orders for shipping, ensuring a safe work environment, and performing various tasks related to shipping and receiving operations. Responsibilities:

• Operate hand-held scan guns to pick orders for shipping.
• Perform job duties in a safe manner, adhering to all safety programs and using personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Inspect and maintain equipment used in shipping and receiving processes.
• Identify and pull parts from inventory, including consignment locations.
• Prepare items for shipment, following standard operating procedures and performing error-free transactions.
• Actively participate in continuous Improvement activities and suggest process improvement opportunities.
• Prepare for cycle counting and understand transfers/restocking processes.
• Possess basic math and computer skills.
• Complete training for loading a truck.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate with supervisors and managers.

Experience/Qualifications:

• Previous experience in shipping or a warehouse environment is preferred.
• Forklift operation experience preferred, especially with stand-up Raymond trucks, is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate personal drive and responsibility.
• Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to learn and adapt.
• Results-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization.
• Must be able to lift and move boxes weighing over 40 lbs. (assistance provided if needed)

Working Hours and Compensation:

• Monday to Friday, 3:30 pm to 12:00 am (with overtime at the end of the month)
• 1 Saturday per month (voluntary)
• Pay rate: $16.00 per hour (with forklift experience), $15.69 per hour (without forklift experience)
