Full time direct hire opportunity in Camarillo, CA for a Supplier Quality Engineer.
$85,000 - $100,000k
3-6 years of experience required - preferably with an Aerospace background.
Bachelor degree in a STEM field required.


PURPOSE AND PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITES:
The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for technical support of supplier quality and process repeatability, acting as the technical liaison between suppliers and company. Their responsibilities include ensuring supplier quality through periodic audits, continuous improvement plans and process development, leading RCCA investigations, and managing MRB activities. The individual will also be responsible for technical support of new supplier onboarding including process development and documentation.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Develop & manage supplier process and product improvement plans to increase first past yield, product quality and delivery times
  • Focal point and technical liaison between suppliers and company to facilitate technical discussion
  • Develop and execute supplier onboarding plans for new products and existing products second sourcing
  • Periodically audit supplier QMS, processes and documentation for conformance to Quality requirements and standards
  • Create, update and maintain documentation related to supplier processes to reduce risk and supplier dependency
  • Manage Material Review Board activities
  • Assume leadership role in driving supplier RCCA activities to eliminate nonconformances
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by developing resourcing and outsourcing initiatives
  • Define supplier quality requirements for new products and existing products second sourcing
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Process Engineering
  • 2+ years minimum Aerospace industry experience in mechanical, electrical or quality engineering fields required
  • Must be able to read manufacturing drawings, electrical schematics, and process procedures
  • Familiarity with typical Aerospace industry manufacturing processes such as machining, painting and heat treatment
  • Understanding of fundamental GD&T practices preferred
  • Training as Internal or Lead Auditor preferred
 
 
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Self-motivated individual with strong time management skills and project ownership capability
  • Exposure to mechanical and/or electrical inspection techniques and thorough understanding of AS9100 Quality systems and problem solving
  • Fluent with quality concepts and systems, especially root cause/corrective action methodologies such as 8D and 5 Why processes
  • Strong technical writing skills and strong ability to use products such as MS Excel to perform data analysis and reporting
  • Strong team building and leadership skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand or reach with hands and arms: climb or balance: and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. 
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
  • Occasional travel to visit suppliers (~10%)
