Warehouse Supervisor

Location:
Niles, IL

Position Type:
Full Time - DIRECT HIRE

Salary Range:
$70,000 - $78,000

Job Shift:
2nd Shift (3pm - 11:30pm)

Summary

Responsible for managing and directing all activities within a Distribution Center supporting multiple manufacturing facilities producing consumer products. This role exemplifies leadership and fosters a Continuous Improvement philosophy within the department.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Oversee direct reports covering 7-day operations.
  • Conduct daily warehouse meetings.
  • Participate in production, labor planning, safety, and management meetings.
  • Communicate departmental achievements and goals during staffing and management meetings.
  • Champion safety, quality, labor efficiency, productivity, and housekeeping within the department.
  • Serve as a point of contact for Sales, Finance, Customer Service, and Production regarding material management.
  • Direct and lead continuous improvement and internal training programs within the department.
  • Monitor team compliance with company policies and enforce rules and regulations.
  • Ensure payroll accuracy and timely completion.
  • Analyze and propose alternatives for labor, material, and inventory control cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with governmental regulations (e.g., OSHA, DOT, DOL).
  • Support compliance with Georgia Nut Company food safety programs (e.g., HACCP, SQF, Allergen Program).
  • Hire, discipline, and train direct reports within the department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of increasing supervisory responsibilities in a distribution environment.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Computer skills within an ERP system.
  • Extensive knowledge of current food safety regulations.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to develop, coach, and mentor team members.
  • Identify material variances and suggest continuous improvements.
