Position Summary: This position is a member of the processing department.


Shift: 3rd - 9:30pm-5:30am 

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Filter high quality apple juice.
  2. Blending juice accurately and in a timely manner.
  3. Loading and unloading tankers.
  4. Keeping work area clean and following GMP's.
  5. Lab testing product to assure product is in spec.
  6. Operating a forklift when required.
  7. Complete blend sheet and bill of ladings neatly and accurately.
  8. CIP Tanks 1 through 18, CIP Pasteurizer T45 & T28, CIP Chillers 1 & 2, CIP Koch Membrane Filter System, CIP Venturi -Silverson – Velo Rocket – Pumps- Dump Tank-

Inline Filters – Manifolds – Tanker Loadout station – Sugar Tank – RO Water Tank.

  1. Work as a team member

 

Role in Food Safety: Always follow plan GMP'S, ensure work area is secure and monitor and document area CCP's.

 

Job Requirements:

The following requirements are those that are normally required for the performance of the Filter-Blender position. 

 

 Position that backs up this role during absence: Any other trained employee in the Processing Department.

 

A.  Physical Requirements:

This position requires the following physical demands up to 90% of the time:

  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to carry 25 pounds up and down 21 stairs.
  • Must be able to work with filter agents wearing a filter mask.
  • Must be able to climb up and down stairs.
  • Must be able to stand for up to 12 hours during a shift minus breaks and lunch.
  • Must be able to work in hot, humid and/or cold areas.
  • Must have good hand-eye coordination.

 

 

B.  Non-Physical Requirements:

 

  1. Education: High school diploma preferred; GED required.

 

  1. Experience: Minimum one year's experience in a juice processing preferred.

 

 

 

  1. Special Skills:
  • Able to work any shift, overtime and any or all days of the week in accordance with plant needs.
  • Knowledge of MSDS for lab chemicals.
  • Understanding of HACCP programs.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Superb organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Personally invested in the success of the business.
  • Motivated, focused and accountable for results.

  • None required.

  • None

 

  1. Internal Relationships:
  • The Filter-Blender Operator must interact and communicate effectively with all employees of the organization.  Effective communication is especially important with the shift supervisor.
