POSITION SUMMARY
The Warehouse Manager's primary responsibility will be managing a fast-paced distribution center in a private brand beverage bottling/canning plant in compliance with the company's policies and vision. The warehouse manager will oversee the receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations, as well as setting up layout and ensuring efficient space utilization.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the job)

Responsibilities include:
- Strategically manage the warehouse in compliance with the company's policies and vision.
- Oversee receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations.
- Set up layout and ensure efficient space utilization.
- Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements.
- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security.
- Lead and develop staff reporting directly to this position. Prepare written performance evaluations and individual development plans.
- Own inventory control of finished products. Maintain high inventory accuracy through a perpetual cycle count program including FIFO rotation of product. Oversee finished goods stored at third-party warehouses.
- Own the department's operating budget including labor utilization and supplies.
- Oversee the daily door log scheduling through 3 PL providers.
- Maintain the warehouse SQF III and 5S standards required in a food processing facility.
- Manage 3rd party activities for the plant including forklift maintenance, yard jockey liaison, and contract negotiation activities.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in the DC as required to deliver KPIs.
- Train new employees that are hired in the work area assigned
- Lead by example and assist others who may need guidance
- Be accessible for employees to ask questions regarding their area of expertise
- Provide positive recognition to employees who exhibit good behavior in their work area
- Provide feedback to managers on individual and team performance
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (If applicable)
- Manage multiple direct reports; the Warehouse Supervisors and Warehouse Clerk report directly to this role.
- Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback, coaching, counseling, and disciplining; conduct training; implement enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; and reviewing professional publications.
- Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
- Communicates job expectations; planning, monitoring, and assessing job results; coaching, and counseling employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, procedures, and productivity standards.
- Establishes strategic goals; identifies and evaluates trends; chooses a course of action; defines objectives; evaluates outcomes.
- Lead and support a food safety and food quality culture within the location
- Establish, document, and communicate to all relevant staff of food safety and quality objectives and performance measure
- Empower and encourage employees to act to resolve food safety and quality issues within their scope of work
- Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the food safety and quality culture within the location
- Effectively communicate all key performance indicators and objectives to employees
- Ensure staffing and adequate resources are maintained to meet objectives
- Educate all staff to understand the importance of food safety and food quality controls and deviation consequences.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration
- Hands-on experience with warehouse management software and databases
- Five to seven years of warehouse supervisory experience required; 2 – 3 years as a distribution center manager preferred in high-speed beverage manufacturing or CPG operations.
- Experience developing and managing an operating budget.
- People management skills, including prior experience managing/developing salaried direct reports.
- Experience using an LMS/ERP system to run queries, perform analysis, and enter related system transactions.
- Strong planning and organizing skills required to support 24/7 operation in a complex, high-volume DC.
- Leadership presence and vision to lead, inspire and motivate.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work at the tactical and strategic level.
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- LEAN/TPM/TPS experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PPT).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical office setting; driving a motor vehicle and occasionally working in the field.
FREQUENT: Ability to talk and hear; ability to sit for prolonged periods to perform computer and administrative work, stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend and/or crouch; upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure to include extended periods of keyboard and mouse use, side-to-side turning of neck, pushing/pulling, twisting at waist, moderate wrist torque to twist equipment knobs and dials. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).
OCCASIONAL: Squatting, kneeling, reach above and at shoulder height, moderate grasp to manipulate reference books and manuals; lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 feet. Use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in area of responsibility.
VISION: Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.
HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
