Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated part-time Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Intern/Technician to join our team at our Naval Electronics Display, Processing, and Networking Center of Excellence manufacturing facility in Johnstown, PA. 

 

As an EHS Intern/Technician, you will assist the Environmental, Health, and Safety team in ensuring our  complies with all applicable regulations and standards. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in EHS within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in conducting safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA, DEP and EPA regulations
  • Support in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility
  • Participate in the investigation of accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions
  • Help maintain EHS documentation, including safety data sheets (SDS), training records, and regulatory filings
  • Assist in the coordination of safety training programs for employees
  • Contribute to the development and execution of environmental sustainability initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the EHS Manager
  • Respond to problems and issues in a tactful and expedient manner
  • Perform facilities inspections and comply with reporting requirements
  • Assist in data collection and the generation of reports and metrics
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of environmental and safety regulations (OSHA knowledge is a plus)
  • Strong communication, organization, and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in PC-based computer skills
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus but not required
  • Willingness to engage in hands-on activities and projects related to safety and environmental protection
