Job Summary

The Facilities Manager will manage the maintenance and repair of company building(s), equipment, machinery, and grounds.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage the maintenance and repair of company building(s), equipment, machinery, and grounds
  • Plan, schedule, and direct staff of in-house employees and external contractors in the maintenance of company buildings, equipment, machinery, and grounds
  • Develop and maintain an operating budget to ensure that such maintenance is carried out on a cost-effective basis
  • Ensure facilities remain operationally ready to support business commitments
  • Responsible to manage the regular maintenance of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and other mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) equipment
  • Develop comprehensive preventative maintenance and inspection process for equipment, machinery, and facilities
  • May direct building renovation and ensures renovations occur within budgeted levels and conform to company specifications.
  • Obtain and prepare cost estimates for facilities and maintenance work scope; coordinate construction, remodeling, and repair projects; and inspect completed work
  • Coordinate/manage insurance and service contract requirements and associated vendors
  • Assure that space-management and project-tracking documentation is accurate and up to date to facilitate incorporation of new requirements and projects
  • Keep upper management apprised of any developments or problems that may interfere with production/processes or cause property loss
  • Collaborate with other departments on problems concerning facilities and production readiness
  • Mentor staff by motivating and providing direction to help them achieve their goals and make a consistent effort to go above and beyond
  • Establish, implement, and monitor methods and measures to ensure quality and low cost
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
Job Responsibilities Part II
  • Assist management with special projects and assignments as requested
  • Support business plans, acquisitions, mergers, and divestitures
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in engineering or related field and a minimum of 5+ years of facilities experience and/or equipment engineering preferably in industrial setting
  • Working knowledge of processing equipment and related support equipment
  • Working knowledge of electrical power systems as well as HVAC systems and controls
  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience working with subcontractors
  • Proven “hands-on” leadership and people skills
  • Experience in non-standard work safety; OSHA 10 or higher preferred.
  • Detail oriented, time and cost conscious
  • Demonstrated skills in facility engineering
