Job Summary

Performs duties for environmental and safety programs at the site. Provides leadership, guidance, and technical support to employees, contractors, visitors, and site management on activities that may have environmental or safety impacts.

Job Responsibilities
  • Daily management
  • EHS & 6S (housekeeping) auditing
  • Deployment of Naval Power Systems (business unit) EHS written programs
  • EHS training
  • Manage regulatory visits (with assistance from FIT)
  • Incident investigation, RCCA (with assistance from FIT)
  • Manage Hazardous Waste as an SQG
  • Perform JHAs for routine and non-routine work
  • Maintain EHS records
  • Manage WC claims (with assistance from FIT)
  • Lead management of change (MOC) efforts (facility, processes, and chemicals)
  • Manage EHS permits, data, and reporting
  • On-site partner with Industrial Park EHS and emergency response personnel
  • Performs daily activities focused on Environmental Protection and Employee Safety
  • Preparation of Safety Data Sheet (SDS), master labels and other documentation as needed
  • Aids management with safety and regulatory audits
  • Overseas the hazardous waste removal and handling procedures
  • Responsible for customer inquiries on shipping, handling, and disposal of chemicals
  • Responsible for generating literature for orders, SDS, etc.
  • Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization
Job Responsibilities Part II
  • Implements an effective preventative maintenance program to ensure the stewardship of DRS assets
  • Responds to problems and issues in a tactful and expedient manner
  • Performs facilities inspections and reporting requirements
  • Collects data and generates reports and metrics
Qualifications
  • 5+ years Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in EHS, Science or related field preferred with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with OSHA and annual compliance training strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, organization and negotiation skills are mandatory preferred
  • Must have excellent PC-based computer skills
