Job Summary

Receives and records payments for services rendered at Lexington Medical Center and affiliates: is responsible for balancing daily receipts and preparing bank deposits. Works closely within department to assist and assure accuracy of receipts and adjustments.

Minimum Qualifications

•Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
•Minimum Years of Experience: 2 Years of experience in related field or in billing/follow-up role regarding hospital & physician billing
•Substitutable Education & Experience: None
•Required Certifications/Licensure: None
•Required Training: Personal computer (PC) experience to include spreadsheets, word processing, etc.;  Minimum typing of 40 wpm;  Knowledge of insurance EOB's and Medicare procedural knowledge.

Essential Functions
  • Receives and posts all payments and adjustments for services rendered at Lexington Medical Center and affiliates.
  • Coordinates posting of all non-payment monies.
  • Responsible for daily balancing of payments and adjustments posted.
  • Researches extensively any unidentified checks by contacting insurance companies, mail and/or patients. 
  • Maintains an optimistic and professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers. Shows courtesy, compassion and respect.  Conforms to Service Excellence policy and “House Rules”.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for meeting productivity levels as defined in the critical elements specific to the job.
  • Attends corporate compliance in-services and adheres to overall hospital compliance program.
  • Ability to focus attention to strict details.
  • Ability to keep data entry errors below.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by authorized personnel.
