Job Summary

The LUM position requires an individual who has strong customer services skills, ability to communicate with a clinical team in a fast pace environment. Candidates should have a track record of being detail orientated and the ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills. Responsible for accurately inventorying assigned stock locations using supply chain software, restocking inventory while organizing supplies by date, maintaining a clean/ neat supply location and scanning all items in locations to ensure replenishment. Position responsible for ensuring stock location have adequate supplies for patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum Years of Experience: 6 Months Working in a Hospital's Supply Chain or Materials Management Department
Substitutable Education & Experience (Optional): In lieu of 6 Months Working in a Hospital's Supply Chain or Materials Management Department, will consider either of the following:

1 Year Directly of Related Experience with Inventory Management (such as supply distribution, ordering, and inventory);

An Associate's Degree in a Supply Chain Management Field;

At least 1 Year of Experience that Demonstrated Aptitude for Supply Chain Management and Successful Performance in an LMC Position (To be Reviewed by Department Leadership).
Required Certifications/Licensure: None.
Required Training: Basic computer skills, knowledge of office equipment, knowledge of supply chain computer software and operations, medical product and terminology knowledge, inventory control principals, understanding of item identification information (catalog #s, Lot #s, expiration dates) use of cardboard compactor, and the inventory rotation principles for restocking supply areas. 
 

Essential Functions
  • Accurately inventories supply locations throughout the hospital utilizing computer software to requisition, order and receiving replacement product.
  • Organize items in bins, check expiration dates, rotate the stock based expiration dates and make sure areas are clean.
  • Sort daily deliveries from distributor for areas of responsibility utilizing push to deliver supplies to stock location.
  • Remove expired/damaged product from supply locations for credit and or disposal.
  • Work with clinical areas to address any questions or concerns about supplies stocked in inventory locations.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Answers the telephone, tracks all equipment throughout the hospital
  • Requests adjustments to inventory level that do not meet area's needs.
  • Notifies Supervisor of mis-picks and or stock shortages so they can be addressed by distributor.
  • Ensures all trash and card board are disposed of prior to shift end
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
