Job Summary

Assist with special projects as needed in Information Services Department. Work may consist of customer service, preparing new/updated work areas, assisting with new office set-ups, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum Years of Experience: None.
Substitutable Education & Experience: None.
Required Certifications/Licensure: None.
Required Training: Must have a good understanding of computers, printers and applications.

Essential Functions
  • Diagnosis and repair of personal computers, wireless carts, printers, peripherals, operating systems, and software
  • Setup/Install/Test personal computers, wireless carts, time clocks, printers, modems, multifunction devices (copier/fax/scanner), and peripheral equipment
  • Assists with support of Local Area Network and Wide Area Network; Works with the Network Administrator group to support cabling and the repair of network related outages
  • Evaluates workstations and printers for upgrade or replacement
  • Setup/Install/Maintains point of sale devices such as cash registers; Maintains inventory of parts - for PCs, printers, mobile computing carts, etc.
  • Works with IS Asset Coordinator on any upgrade or software addition to ensure license compliance
  • Will be required to participate in afterhours, on-call rotation. This will require you to be available to be notified of and respond to afterhours support issues via pager. Diagnose and repair personal computers, wireless carts, printers, peripherals, operating systems, and software.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Contacts users to gather additional details, set expectations as to when they will be there to help (e.g. Today, Thursday, next week, etc.), make appointments, or to provide updates on an open ticket.
  • Provides timely and complete documentation of all support requests in the IS call logging application
  • Periodically attends continuing education courses to keep abreast of technology developments.
  • Maintains a positive, optimistic and professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers.
  • Shows courtesy, compassion and respect, conforms to Service Excellence policy and IS working agreements.
  • Willing attitude and ability to assist with any assignment.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by authorized personnel or as required in an    emergency, e.g. fire or disaster.
