Are you looking for your dream job? Are you an RN that is looking for a challenge? Thornton Oaks, Maine's Best Independent Retirement Community, is looking for a Health Services Coordinator.

You would be part of the senior leadership team and will provide guidance to the team regarding the residents' needs at Thornton Oaks. This is a weekday, full-time position.

Do you love teaching and having fun? Are you creative and passionate about finding solutions and working together with residents and families? This position is responsible for planning and conducting programs that encourage health and wellness in the older population. It would include but is not limited to outside hikes/walks, educational lectures and inside exercise programs.

In this position you will be assisting residents and their families through the transitions of levels of care. You would guide them in a manner that supports and promotes a level of dignity and assist them in their transition to a higher level of care when needed. Occasionally you would provide emergency care as warranted.

Thornton Oaks is looking for someone that is:

  • Fun
  • Has problem solving skills and is able to share and collaborate with community resources,
  • Has strong communication and listening skills,
  • Home health care experience is a real plus.

The Health and Wellness Coordinator supports residents through transitions of care, working closely with residents and their families as changes in level of care occur. The Health and Wellness Coordinator is responsible for the management of the overall health and wellness planning to meet residents' needs, assisting with the coordination of services required for resident care, planning health related educational seminars, conducting health related programs, and providing information on local health resources to residents and staff.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: Must be an RN, BSN preferred.
  • License/Certifications: Current Maine RN license
  • Experience: 2 years' experience in medical-surgical nursing practice; Experience in working with an older population, some training in geriatric care preferred; Experience and/or ability to teach or to organize educational seminars
