Marquette Management Inc., www.marquettemanagement.com is looking for a Lead maintenance technician in St. Charles, IL. This position would assist the Maintenance Supervisor with day-to-day operations, scheduling, work orders, turns and cross training of maintenance technicians.
Duties and responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, including training, scheduling, and assigning tasks.
- Perform and oversee routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of building systems and components, such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and appliances.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to extend equipment life and reduce unexpected failures.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify opportunities for process improvement and equipment upgrades.
- Manage and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, parts used, and equipment status.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations, fostering a safe working environment for all employees.
- Respond to emergency calls and take appropriate action to resolve critical issues.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment as needed.
- Coordinate and oversee the work of external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or projects.
The Lead Maintenace Technician must have previous maintenance experience, preferably in the apartment or hotel industry, as well as excellent customer service skills and general computer knowledge. Candidate should have experience with plumbing, electrical, appliances, and apartment turns.
- HVAC or EPA Universal Certification is a plus! Availability for on-call purposes and the flexibility and ability to work weekends when necessary is also a plus!
