Business Rule Author - Lead Software Engineer Overview

The Business Rules Engineering & Strategy team is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to drive forth our mission of building robust IBM ODM Rule solutions that provide transaction level decisioning, alerting and notifications. Business Rules embed intelligence into the transactional cycle by leveraging scoring models, cohesive rule strategies and behavioral data, and when combined with our agile rule development & deployment capabilities, results in a competitive advantage for all stakeholders, in the entire payment ecosystem.

Role

• Provide technical leadership, strategize AI model business logic, design and product requirement elaboration expertise, which includes mission critical, high volume transaction processing systems.
• Freehold proposed business requirements and merge into technical and business engineering solutions.
• Own all aspects of communication as model development cycle unfolds; develop reports and authoritive responses pertaining to your products & technical solutions.
• Drive efforts in a collaborative space with multiple technical departments to engineer offline solutions into an online system
• Ownership, creation and maintenance of all model documentation, and relevant playbook, solutioning and technical process pages.
• Deliver planning and roadmapping on milestone tasks for all elements of project delivery from design, resources, implementation and monitoring.
• Lead junior team members on delivery lifecyle of model implementation, including intergration of operational hand off between internal and external project delivery teams.
• Understand the current state of emerging AI platforms, technology and platforms, with a focus on applying these technologies rather than developing them from scratch
• Deep understanding of troubleshooting techniques across a broad range of problems/domains

All About You

The ideal candidate for this position should:
• Have a bachelor's degree in data science, Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 3 years' experience working with AI Product development.
• Have current experience in delivering technical solutions and capabilities to meet business and product strategies, including a focused relationship with technical and business providers. Financial Services or Payments experience a plus.
• Direct experience with the development of custom software applications and services across a variety of technology selections and frameworks.
• Experience with software engineering concepts and methodologies, including agile lifecycles, testing automation, and behavior-driven development.
• Strong background in object-oriented architecture, design, and development. Direct Java experience preferred. Experience with multiple OO languages and SQL a plus.
• High-energy and detail-oriented, with the ability to function under pressure in an independent environment with a high degree of initiative and self-motivation to drive results; good at organizing and planning for several concurrent initiatives with conflicting needs.
• Be familiar with emergent AI technologies and trends
• Strong sense of curiosity, analytical problem solving and is passionate about the customer experience journey
• Flexible work style with the ability to quickly pivot to new priorities
• Refining product requirements to fit appropriate capabilities.
