Communications Lead, Canada Overview:

The Communications team is focused on driving programs and activities that evolve, promote and protect Mastercard's reputation among key internal and external audiences. They support the company's efforts in delivering world-class payments experiences and are responsible for all internal and external communications for Canada.
This role is focused on developing strategic communications programs and campaigns to advance Mastercard's reputation as a trusted, purpose-driven innovator. The role will be responsible for elevating the company's innovation position, reputation and brand perception with key external stakeholders including media, customers, prospects, and more.

The individual in this role will also be responsible for driving strategic internal communications plans, programs and social technologies that align with business goals to enhance employee understanding, increase engagement, and drive high performance culture.
In addition, they will lead the development of editorial content, advancing the digital presence of senior business leaders and subject matter experts, and crafting internal communications to Mastercard's storytelling.

Role:
Work in collaboration with the Vice President, Communications, Canada and other senior business and marcomms leaders to develop progressive, integrated communications and marketing strategies to advance the company's mission, and evolve, promote and protect Mastercard's brand and reputation.
• Drive the development of holistic internal and external communications campaigns for Mastercard Brand and the company's B2B, enterprise and emerging technology products.
• Build and enhance Mastercard's business reputation and impact through clear and impactful communications, events and social media engagement.
• Partner with global and regional communications teams to showcase Mastercard's innovation story across product, technology, services, and marketing
• Identify industry and market trends to understand key perceptions, motivations and drivers related to payments, technology and security
• Develop data-driven storytelling initiatives and messaging to showcase the business strategy, product innovations and partnerships.
• Leverage relationships with key media and industry analysts to support product/service launches and corporate announcements
• Proactively build, manage, and strengthen relationships with key financial services, payments and tech top-tier and trade media, influencers, and industry analysts to support product/service launches and raise executive profiles.
• Partner with global communications to coordinate and direct sustained internal communications programs and contribute to implementation of best practice internal communications capabilities in the form of events, digital, written communication channels
• Draft wide range of executive communications (including memos and speaking remarks/speeches) ensuring clear, concise, consistent messaging.

• Excellent written and oral communications skills; strong ability to story mine and collectively present differentiated and complex topics to life
• Strong relationship management skills and ability to work collaboratively and deliver results with
• Demonstrated track record of high-profile media relationships and placements; technology and lifestyle media relationships desired
• Creative thinker possessing high level of comfort with fast-paced, dynamic work environment
• Digital and social media experience and interest; led editorial and/or marketing campaigns, social and influencer campaigns, and technology showcases
• Proactive with a strong ability to prioritize, multi-task, manage to deadlines and take end-to-end ownership of programs and results
• Experience working with senior executives in a cross functional environment
• Solid understanding of balancing and prioritizing needs of multiple stakeholders
• Entrepreneurial, creative thinker, pursuing new ideas and bringing best practices
