Title and Summary

Director, Business Development Overview
• Mastercard Retail & Commerce enables and offers a wide range of products and services for our merchant partners to create compelling card acceptance experiences, as well as to deliver advanced solutions across cybersecurity, data insights, and marketing platforms. These offerings are designed to strengthen partner engagement and support sustainable growth across all relevant channels.
• Our propositions and consultative sales approach focus on enabling card acceptance, implementing innovative solutions for contactless, e-commerce and new segments, but also delivering value through Mastercard's Cyber & Intelligence solutions, Data & Services capabilities, and marketing platforms.
• The job holder will execute sales and commerce development plans and activities, contributing to Mastercard's commercial goals through effective planning, business development, and go-to-market execution across the broader suite of Mastercard solutions.
• The candidate will own the full sales cycle – from prospecting to acquisition – and continue with post-sales account development, including managing and deepening long-term relationships with partners.

Role
As a member of the Retail & Commerce Team, the role holder will play a key part in growing the partner base and driving commercial impact by:
• Achieving sales objectives by developing and implementing programs and commercial strategies that go beyond acceptance – including cybersecurity solutions, data analytics, marketing services, and innovations that help merchants grow.
• Maintaining a consultative approach focused on the customer's best interest and delivering comprehensive solutions.
• Providing insightful market and business analysis to customers, supporting their commercial goals.
• Initiating contact with prospects, presenting Mastercard's ecosystem of services, and moving leads through the sales funnel.
• Reporting progress, maintaining accurate records of sales activities, supporting KPI reporting, and preparing business cases and agreements.
• Identifying marketing and promotional opportunities and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on them.
• Supporting senior management in planning and strategic initiatives.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers to develop, execute and monitor annual business and marketing plans.
• Contributing to local and cross-functional initiatives that support Mastercard's broader strategy.
