Services within Mastercard is responsible for acquiring, engaging, and retaining customers by managing fraud and risk, enhancing cybersecurity, and improving the digital payments experience. Director – Solutions Operations
Overview
The Director, Solutions Ops is a strategic leader responsible for building and optimizing the technical and operational backbone of Mastercard's fast-growing AI Consulting team. Reporting to the VP, this role drives technical execution, governance, and scalability across global operations. The Director ensures that systems, processes, and vendor ecosystems are designed for resilience, compliance, and innovation as the team expands.
Operating in a fast-paced environment where ambiguity and rapid evolution are the norm, the Director will lead technical process design, implement performance tracking systems, and ensure operational resilience. This role requires strong technical acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams to deliver efficiency and compliance at scale.
Key Responsibilities
A. Operational Support & Process Execution
Design and implement technical workflows and governance frameworks that enable scalability and compliance across global teams.
Define and maintain operational KPIs, dashboards, and reporting systems to provide leadership with actionable insights.
Oversee onboarding and resource allocation processes, ensuring seamless integration of technical tools and platforms for new team members.
B. System & Process Optimization
Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline operational processes.
Ensure technical systems (e.g., project tracking, reporting platforms) are configured and maintained for accuracy and efficiency.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operational workflows to enhance speed, quality, and compliance.
C. Financial & Resource Management Support
Own budget tracking and forecasting for technical operations, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and cost optimization.
Deliver operational reports and insights to inform leadership decisions on resource planning and investment.
D. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Act as a liaison between Product, Engineering, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure technical alignment and timely delivery of initiatives.
Lead resolution of complex operational and technical challenges through structured problem-solving and stakeholder engagement.
About You
Experience in technical operations, program management, or process engineering within technology or consulting environments; experience with AI technologies strongly preferred.
Proven ability to design and implement technical workflows, governance frameworks, and reporting systems.
Strong proficiency in operational analytics, automation tools, and compliance processes.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills; able to influence at senior levels without direct authority.
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment with high ambiguity.
Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline required; advanced degree or PMP certification a plus.
