Title and Summary

Lead Platform Engineer – AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer Overview
Mastercard's Database Platform Engineering Team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Software Engineer to spearhead the development of a robust AWS DevOps capability. This role is pivotal in enabling full lifecycle CI/CD for the database products in AWS Environment, and in launching self-service datastore offerings via the AWS Forge Marketplace.
You will work closely with platform engineers, database engineers, and architects to design, build, and maintain a scalable, secure, and highly available cloud platform. Your contributions will directly impact Mastercard's ability to deliver database products efficiently and securely across AWS and Azure environments.

Key Responsibilities
• Knowledge of a multi-account AWS platform using services such as EKS, EC2, RDS, Glue, EMR, MSK, S3, IAM, VPC, Transit Gateway, and Control Tower.
• Build and manage infrastructure using CloudFormation/CDK(TypeScript), with fluency in Python.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, BitBucket/GitHub, Artifactory, and Sonarqube.
• Drive platform reliability and scalability through automation, observability (Splunk, Dynatrace), and incident response.
• Collaborate across teams to support deployment pipelines and troubleshoot integration issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead architecture discussions and code reviews.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience in DevOps with a strong focus on AWS.
• Proven expertise in infrastructure automation and cloud-native development.
• Deep understanding of CI/CD practices and cloud security frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug and optimize complex systems.
• Strong understanding of major SQL and NoSQL databases, including Oracle, PostgreSQL,DocumentDB and related AWS RDS services.
• Experience with Azure and hybrid cloud environments is a plus.
Nice to Have
• AWS certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, SysOps, Database Engineer.
• Experience with PCI auditing and CIS benchmarking in cloud environments. In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay Ranges

O'Fallon, Missouri: $112,000 - $187,000 USD
