The Priceless Platform is experiencing significant growth, and we are looking for a very hands-on and seasoned Manager in Pune, India with experience and passion scaling an AWS cloud and cloud native platform. An e-commerce like workflow platform, Priceless Platform is Mastercard's premium B2B2C platform. It delivers experiences and benefits to banks and partners globally, for their customers. We were a NEA funded startup acquired by Mastercard, and we continue to run at high velocity, and drive impact. Our portfolio is expanding significantly, and we need to flawlessly execute to grow the business, while also designing and building for scale.
The Role
As a Manager, Software Engineer at Priceless Platform, your role will be crucial in leading and managing a team of software engineers to develop, test, deliver and monitor deliver secure, scalable, and innovative AWS based platform. Your expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native infrastructure, and strong system design will be essential in delivering highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable systems. Your role will extend beyond technical leadership as you drive the adoption of cloud native infrastructure, leveraging your hands-on experience in AWS public cloud environments.
An important part of your role is to be a fantastic people leader, motivator, and communicator. Your initial role will be to help build your team. After that, you need to guide your team, communicate effectively and collaboratively with the teams in US, Europe, and AP cross-functional teams, and drive the process to have excellent customer outcomes through design, build, test, deploy and operate secure and reliable cloud services.
You will have to raise the bar on technical excellence through hands on work and experience in scaling cloud platforms and processes. You will demonstrate thought leadership, execution, and communication excellence, with different audiences, including customers. This role is based out of our Mastercard location in Pune, India.
What are the Day-to-Day activities
• Manage product development activities
• Work with product management, Architects, Platform engineering and other dev teams to create high-quality solutions
• Solve difficult and sometimes ambiguous problems
• Manage resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering team
• Conduct performance evaluations of team members and identify opportunities for skill development.
• Take part in & leading code reviews, refactoring, gathering code quality metrics.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
• 10+ years of experience in leading and managing teams with high-quality results with atleast 3+ years of team leading experience.
• Experience with agile development environments
• Fluency in one or more relevant programming language - PHP, GoLang, JavaScript, React, SQL
• Proven and enthusiastic Cloud/AWS Engineering technical leadership experience with a track record of delivering complex technical solutions in fast-paced environments.
• Deep experience building large-scale web services, microservices-based applications in the cloud environment.
• Experience with deploying and running distributed, scaled databases.
Experience with software development productivity metrics (e.g., code churn, commit size, test coverage,) and help to continuously improve code velocity, quality, and release frequency.
• Practitioner of automation/configuration management, deployment strategies (blue/green, canary, A/B testing, feature flags) in a CI-CD pipeline, and logging and monitoring practices for high availability
