Overview
Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) represent one of the most strategic growth opportunities for Mastercard in LAC. This segment plays a critical role in the region's economy and is expected to significantly increase its contribution to Mastercard's results in the coming years. With ambitious growth targets, the SME agenda is positioned at the center of our strategy to expand commercial payment flows and strengthen our leadership in this market.
This position is responsible for supporting the planning process, monitoring results, ensuring governance, and providing senior management with the insights and tools necessary to drive and monitor performance. Acting as a supporting connector across global, regional, and local teams, the role ensures that Mastercard's SME strategy is translated into concrete actions, measured outcomes, and long-term impact.
Role
In this role, the selected candidate will:
• Support the annual planning and budgeting process for the SME segment, including volume, revenue, and investment projections.
• Manage ongoing performance tracking, monitoring KPIs, analyzing results, conducting root cause analyses, and preparing executive reports.
• Partner with Finance to oversee P&L management, ensuring revenues and allocations are correctly attributed to the SME business.
• Partner with the SME Commercialization cluster teams to oversee & track the SME Sales pipeline & performance metrics
• Manage the use and maintenance of regional performance dashboards, ensuring accuracy, timely updates, and effective application in decision-making.
• Support business reviews (global, regional, and local), including material preparation and storyline development.
• Provide support to the Director, Business Intelligence & Analytics SME LAC in all tasks related to development of executive presentations and strategic materials.
• Support effective budget management for marketing, product investments, and travel, including forecasting and provisioning.
• Work closely with internal teams, such as Products, Sales, Finance, Sales Excellence, and Customer Delivery, to drive execution.
All About You
The ideal candidate for this position should:
• Have some experience in strategic planning, financial performance management, or product strategy within financial services and/or payments.
• Demonstrate strong analytical skills, with ability to interpret complex data, build scenarios, and develop actionable insights.
• Knowledge of internal Mastercard reporting systems & data cubes
• Developing communication and storytelling capabilities, including experience in preparing presentations and structuring clear narratives.
• Be proficient in visualization and reporting tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
• Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams such as Finance, Sales Excellence, Product, and Legal.
• Show proven multi-tasking, organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Be results-driven and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing. Portuguese and Spanish are a differential.
• Hold a bachelor's degree; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred but not required
