Overview

The Mobile Payment Gateway (MPG) is a platform for economies moving into the Digital first world of payments. The platform enables the Mastercard multi-rail capabilities into these markets, building a Digital Payment Hub that integrates with Mastercard and Industry Payment processing and management solutions. It is part of Mastercard Mastercard Move portfolio which powers people and businesses worldwide to pay domestically and internationally with speed, flexibility, security, and transparency.

We are looking for a passionate, innovative and highly skilled Engineering Manager with proven experience in technical management of FinTech solutions (in the Payments domain) while leveraging Mastercard's technological capabilities to solve partner business problems, create new propositions, influencing and communicating far reaching architectural and strategic technology decisions.

Key Responsibilities

- Own complex problems having dependency across services and facilitate cross-functional team interactions to drive resolution

- Write code to build and enhance applications/services and promote code-reviews, code scanning, and other standard development practices to deliver high-quality artifacts to production.

- Define, design, and develop procedures and solutions at a service level to meet the business requirements/enhancements

- Drive prioritization decisions and trade-offs in working with product partners

- Lead the design of product propositions leveraging the wide gamut of Mastercard assets and services

- Identify opportunities and build roadmaps to enhance primary service/function

- Automate and simplify all aspects of software delivery and development actively evangelizing the need to automate and simplify where needed.

- Drive seamless integration across all connected services to meet end-user expectations

- Introduce new technologies and architecture by following enterprise guidelines

- Advocate for engineering principles outside of current organization/platform

- Provide development and architecture guidance to team members

- Build relationships and effective partnerships across organizations

- Write and evaluate recommendations for job promotions based on an unbiased view of one's accomplishments

- Conduct technical interviews for hiring engineering staff and raising the performance bar

- Lead by example with hands-on approaches to demonstrate engineering excellence

- Encourage staff to share and seek knowledge within their Guild/Program to drive reuse of patterns/libraries/practices and enhance productivity

- Work with product owners to architect and design the business capability and domain model

- Strong experience in Agile processes and ceremonies

All About You

- Bachelor or Master's degree in the area of Computer Science or equivalent

- Full Stack developer with strong Java development/architecture experience

- Proficiency in REST APIs, Web Services and Proven experience of developing / integrating with REST-based services

- Proficiency with cloud technologies, micro-service design, CI/CD, DevOps

- Knowledge of the coding guidelines and code analysis tools like Sonarqube

- Expert in TDD and BDD in the software development processes

- Has skills to drive trade-off discussions to set the right development capacity based on value drivers (e.g., regulatory, security, new business, market parity, technical debt)

- Has skills to evaluate practices, metrics, and roles to continually optimize SDLC methodologies and automate processes to improve lead time and quality

- Has skills to cost-effectively architect systems to meet the scaling needs of different markets (e.g., on soil or localization)

- Has skills to guide teams on automation/configuration management, deployment strategy, and logging and monitoring practices for high availability

- Domain Driven design and development experience is a plus

- Familiarity with the Banking and Payment domain

- Experience experience in leading and coaching teams to perform software planning and estimation for large scale complex programs

- Enjoys collaborating with a team while working independently towards a goal.

- Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple tasks within the constraints and timelines determined by business needs.

- You are recognized for your subject matter expertise allowing you to regularly dive deep

- Confident and effective communicator able to work closely with cross-functional teams and collaborate with all members of the organization
