Overview:
The Mastercard Consolidated Billing System (MCBS) team within the Financial Solutions program has an exciting opportunity for a Manager Software Engineer. Financial Solutions provides Mastercard and its customers with a fully automated and scalable system that delivers timely pricing and billing solutions as well as accurate stakeholder reporting. In this role you will be responsible for designing and developing billing programs to support Mastercard's billing and enhance customers billing experience through simplification of the billing structures.

The Role:

•Technical team leader with experience in the finance domain with a proven track record in driving innovation and organizational growth through their contributions.
• Develop and coach team members to excel on engineering endeavors by fostering an environment that encourages continuous learning and growth.
• Participate and contribute to team's agile process and decisions. Drive prioritization decisions and trade-offs in working with product partners.
• Work with product owners and architects
• Simplify and improve the cost/benefit of a function/service/architecture strategy
• Apply judgment and experience to balance trade-offs between competing interests

All About You and What you need to bring:
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in the software quality engineering discipline, starting as a software engineer and progressing through the ranks to a leadership position. Background in the finance domain with working experience with Intermediate and Singleview products from CSG a plus
• Product engineering experience that demonstrates thought-leadership and cross-functional influence demonstrated by a successful track record of enabling business through engineering excellence and technical innovation.
• Experience in leading the initiation and formation of large global projects including architecting, estimating, planning, implementing, and operating as well as selecting talent resources across multiple geographies and functions.
• Understands and implements API standards and cataloging to drive API/service adoption and commercialization
• Has skills to promote and coach teams on take on full stack development and facilitate end-to-end service ownership
• Has skills to drive trade-off discussions to set right development capacity based on value drivers e.g., regulatory, security, new business, market parity, technical debt
• Performance engineering experience to ensure applications are built to scale, run, and perform for varying demands
• Has skills to evaluate practices, metrics, and roles to continually optimize SDLC methodologies and automate processes to improve lead time and quality

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy
• Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers and testers across geographies.
• Define and drive the testing strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and MasterCard standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Development, BizOps) to ensure clear understanding of requirements and test coverage.
Test Planning & Execution
• Oversee the creation and execution of comprehensive test plans, including UAT, regression, integration, and performance testing.
• Ensure timely delivery of testing milestones and proactively manage risks and issues.
• Drive automation strategy and adoption across projects using tools like Selenium, Java, and API testing frameworks.
Process & Quality Ownership
• Champion quality assurance best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to MasterCard's QA/QC processes and software development standards.
• Own documentation standards and ensure consistent reporting of test metrics and KPIs.
Technical Oversight
• Provide technical guidance on scripting (Perl, Unix), database validation (SQL), and big data testing.
• Review and approve test data creation strategies and automation frameworks.
• Support integration with platforms such as IME and SingleView Billing (CSGI).
Stakeholder Engagement
• Act as the primary point of contact for QA-related discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Facilitate reviews, demos, and sign-offs with business and technology partners.
• Support resource planning, budgeting, and vendor coordination as needed.
