Title and Summary

Senior Product Specialist, Data Quality In the role of Product Specialist, Data Strategy, the selected candidate will be responsible for defining and executing on data management strategies across multiple data driven products within the Economics and Locations Services program. The candidate will instill best practices that ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance of our data solutions. The selected candidate will work closely (will be the lead) with stakeholders across the organization to address data quality concerns, optimize data workflows, and improve the design of our data solutions from a data architecture and deployment perspective. The role will be key in driving data-driven decisions by ensuring that data is reliable, accessible, and structured in a way that aligns with business objectives.

The candidate will report directly into a senior Global Product Manager, and act as the primary data quality owner for a defined set of product lines.

The candidate will ensure data excellence across three pillars: data strategy, quality assurance, and cross-functional collaboration

Data Strategy
• Data Quality Strategy: Define and implement best practices for data quality management, including processes for identifying, tracking, and resolving data quality issues across the organization. Lead the development and execution of data strategies aimed at producing more accurate, consistent, and reliable data-driven solutions.
• Data Compliance: Work closely with compliance and security teams to ensure that data governance standards are met, and ensure adherence to relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
• Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date on emerging data trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve data strategies and solutions.

Quality Assurance
• Data Remediation: Lead efforts to remediate data quality issues, applying techniques such as data profiling, cleansing, and validation to improve data accuracy and consistency.
• Reporting and Analysis: Develop and maintain reporting and dashboards that track data quality metrics, progress on data quality initiatives, and the overall health of data management processes.
• QA Collaboration: Partner with Quality Assurance Engineering teams to ensure data quality for customer-facing solutions and applications. Define QA test cases.

Cross-functional Collaboration
• Data Architecture and Schema Design: Collaborate with data engineering and architecture teams to define and optimize data architecture and schema design, ensuring scalability, performance, and consistency across the organization's data systems.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, product teams, and IT to understand data needs and translate them into actionable data solutions that drive business decisions.
• Training and Education: Provide guidance and training to teams on data governance, data quality best practices, and effective use of database tools.

All About you
• Experience in data management, data analysis, or a similar data-driven role, with a strong understanding of database systems and architecture.
• Passionate about data, product management, and owning cross-functional projects
• Proven experience in defining and implementing data quality strategies, processes, and remediation practices.
• Ability to develop and implement data governance frameworks, including data stewardship, data lineage, and metadata management.
• Knowledge of database tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, ETL tools, data warehousing platforms).
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., DataBricks, Azure, AWS...) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
• Experience with data architecture and schema design, ensuring optimal structure for storing and processing large volumes of data.
• Strong analytical skills and experience working with complex data sets to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
• Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau...) to communicate data quality metrics and insights.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Certification in data management, data governance, or a related field (e.g., DAMA, CDMP).
• Experience with machine learning or AI models applied to data quality or data strategy is a plus.
• Familiarity with data integration and data pipeline management in enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of data security practices and techniques to ensure the protection of sensitive information.

Total Base Pay Range

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
