Title and Summary

Senior Software Engineer Overview
The Service Operations Tools program is designed to build and operate tools used by Mastercard engineers to ensure compliance, automate workflows, and manage assets/services. This program provides a wide range of tooling - using both internally created software as well as vendor provided products - with the end goal of improving efficiencies for how we manage the software and product lifecycles at Mastercard. Leveraging concepts such as IT Service Management, Asset Management, Release Orchestration, and standards development - we're able to ensure consistency, operational excellence, and governance in the products we build and work with every day.

This software development position will primarily support the Release Orchestration product - which is used to help automate complex workflows related to designing, building, and delivering products. This person will work closely with infrastructure design teams, product owners, operations, and customers to ensure a seamless approach to managing release processes. This person will spend their time bringing concepts to life via Python development, bash scripting, API flows, and integrations with other Mastercard tools.

Role
• Ensure operational criteria (i.e., system availability, capacity, performance, monitoring, self-healing, and deployment automation) are implemented throughout the delivery process.
• Design, develop, test, and implement new features and workflows to enable operational efficiency, improved software development lifecycles, and toil reduction
• Shift left to be more proactive and upfront in the development process, and to proactively manage production and change activities to maximize customer experience and increase the overall value of supported applications.

All About You
• Position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent in Comp/Elec/Soft Engineering, MIS, Engineering, Biochemistry, or related technical field
• Proficient development experience with Python and Java
• Proficient experience with Spring framework, Release Orchestration, Unix technologies and Bash scripting

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
