As a Senior Software Engineer in Services, you will have the opportunity to work on high-performance analytics platform that advances how businesses all over the world unleash the most value from their data. Our next generation platform blends industry-leading analytics, advanced software architecture, and the latest web technologies. You will play a vital role within a rapidly growing organization, while working closely with experienced and driven engineers to solve challenging problems. You will have the opportunity to shape the office and team culture and be a part of growing the recently started Data & Services Platforms team in Pune.
As a Software Quality/ Support Reliability Engineer, we build analytically intensive software on top of vast amounts of data served securely over the web to many of the world's largest organizations.
Software Quality Engineers are responsible for ensuring great products and analytics for our users. At Mastercard, SQE work directly alongside software engineers and product managers in small teams and are deeply engaged throughout the entire development process. From feature outset to feature rollout, SQE are involved every step of the way guaranteeing the highest quality product and fastest possible software delivery. Innovation is also a key facet in the role. Software Quality Engineers are expected to never settle for the status quo in how Mastercard approaches its testing challenges and always look for ways to accelerate or improve the testing tactics taken.
This position is based out of Shanghai and will be reporting into the regional China team.

As a Senior Software Engineer - Quality/Reliability, you will:
• Serve as a technical resource for team members
• Lead scoping and triaging issues for the team
• Leverage new technologies and approaches to supporting with increasingly large data sets
• Collaborate across teams with exceptional peers who are passionate about what they do
• Apply your skills in computer science, math, and statistics to solve important problems faced by some of the world's largest organizations
• Continue to innovate and consistently learn new technologies
• Help the team and provide guidance to improve the quality of support we provide to clients
• Work closely with client-facing teams to understand problems and provide clarity
• Identify patterns for the issues reported and provide inputs to the Business for enhancing product
• Navigate efficiently through the complex codebase (is a plus)
• Understand product business and help clients with insights
• Own the release management process for your team and innovate on code and database deployment methods for applications developed by your team
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
• Good to have - Prior experience with support/enhancement projects
• Experience leading efforts for improving support and reliability of the product
• Debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Familiarity with Large multiteam products comprised of microservices and environments
• Understanding of statistical techniques
• Deep understanding of relevant core technologies, libraries, and processes
• High level understanding of the technologies in C#, SQL Server, React/Redux, Jenkins, CI/CD
• Good understanding of various design patterns
• Passion for solving varied and complex real-world problems
• Initiative and creativity in approaching new challenges
• Ability to thrive on small, highly collaborative project teams
• Solid technical foundation with a degree in Computer Science or related field
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Strong written and verbal Mandarin communication skills
