Overview
Across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of economic growth, accounting for ~90% of the workforce and ~55% of GDP. The Covid-19 pandemic further emphasized the critical role of MSMEs in driving economic resilience and recovery. At Mastercard, our mission is clear: “Empowering Every Business, Everywhere.” Given their impact as both payers and acceptors of electronic payments, MSMEs are central to Mastercard's growth strategy in LAC. Our goal is to enable these businesses to scale, digitize, and thrive in a modern economy.

Role
Mastercard's LAC SME team is seeking a Director, SME Sales Specialist to drive revenue growth and digital transformation for small businesses in the region. This role requires a dynamic, results-driven leader who can:
Develop new revenue opportunities by identifying and engaging SME customers through strategic prospecting, partnerships, and direct outreach.
Drive consultative sales and solution innovation by understanding SME challenges and positioning Mastercard's payment solutions to address their pain points.
Expand Mastercard's market presence through value proposition enhancements, alternative distribution channels, and strategic industry partnerships.
Lead business development efforts in trade and logistics, enabling port operators, logistics companies, and freight service providers to digitize payments from small businesses and integrate Mastercard solutions into trade ecosystems.
Enhance Mastercard's go-to-market strategy by identifying opportunities to modernize B2B transactions and increase financial inclusion for SMEs in supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Sales Growth & Pipeline Management: Own and execute a revenue-driven sales strategy to expand Mastercard's SME segment share across LAC.
Business Development & Partnerships: Identify and cultivate partnerships with fintechs, logistics providers, and industry stakeholders to drive SME digital transformation.
Consultative Selling & Client Engagement: Engage directly with SME customers to position Mastercard's solutions, negotiate deals, and close sales.
Product & Solution Innovation: Work with Product, Marketing, and Market Development teams to tailor Mastercard's offerings to SME needs and market trends.
Analytics & Performance Optimization: Leverage market insights, sales performance data, and competitive analysis to refine strategies and exceed growth targets.
Trade & Logistics Sector Focus: Develop strategies to help port operators, logistics firms, and freight service providers digitize SME payments, reducing reliance on cash.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with regional and divisional teams to develop sales enablement tools and ensure sales readiness for SME solutions.
Industry Thought Leadership: Represent Mastercard at conferences, trade shows, and networking events, positioning the company as the leader in SME payments and digital transformation.
