Title and Summary
Specialist, Legal Services Specialist, Legal Services - Privacy and Data Protection ServicesThe GBSC (Global Business Solutions Center) is the shared services organization for Mastercard. GBSC is partnering with the Law Department team to build a legal shared services function. The GBSC team is predominantly co-located in a collaborative working environment in the heart of the Mastercard Technology Operations headquartered in St. Louis, MO. Select regional hubs exist to provide additional scale and agility. The GBSC provides services to all regions and all business units spanning 50 countries.
The Specialist, Legal Services - Privacy and Data Protection Services will be part of a team of privacy legal specialists within the broader GBSC Legal Services team. This position will support Mastercard's integrated approach to privacy and data protection and be accountable for reviewing Global Cookies, Privacy Breach Incidents and delivering positive customer experiences and efficient business results.

Role
• Understand complex global privacy and data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and apply legal concepts to business and data constructs and processes.
• Log, categorize, and track all data protection and security incidents.
• Ensure prompt updates and proper documentation for each incident.
• Coordinate with IT, Legal, and Security teams to gather incident details.
• Monitor incident resolution and follow up on remediation actions.
• Generate reports and support audit trails as per compliance requirements.
• Review and assess website cookies for compliance with privacy regulations.
• Collaborate with website and marketing teams to ensure cookie banners and consent mechanisms are up to date.
• Maintain a detailed inventory of cookies across company websites.
• Support periodic audits and assessments of cookie practices.
• Provide recommendations for cookie classification and consent management improvements.
• Support business and legal colleagues taking a privacy-by-design approach to ensure privacy compliance for all data driven products!
• Provide superior customer service according to the GBSC standards in terms of quality, response time, resolution time and adhering to Service Level Objectives
• Profiecient in creating distinct types of metrics for the leadership.
• Profiecient in MS Excel.
All About You
• Must be a Law graduate. IAPP/Privacy Certification/s is an advantage.
• Experience with incident management systems and/or data protection practices.
• Familiarity with cookie consent tools (e.g., OneTrust) and web compliance.
• Knowledge of data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) is must.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a compliance or IT environment.
• Basic understanding of web technologies and how cookies function
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
